Wordpress Referrer Log Plugin
What is referrer? based on wiki’s article, the referrer, or HTTP referrer — also known by the common misspelling referer that occurs as an HTTP header — identifies, from the point of view of an internet webpage or resource, the address of the webpage of the resource which links to it. By checking the referrer, the new page can see where the request came from. Referrer logging is used to allow websites and web servers to identify where people are visiting them from, for promotional or security purposes.
On the last few days, i’ve been playing with wordpress referrer trick. I got the idea from some sites i visited. I decided to learn about it and there you go, after trial and error, finally it shows on Komunitas BSI right sidebar. By putting their link to our page, we give them thanks for bringing visitors to our page, this is not only a usual thanks, it includes backlink to their page. The more they refer visitors our site, the more higher their position on our referrer backlink.
I’m planing to develope this simple WP Referrer Log Plugin. It will show your visitor top referrer, last referrer, filtering some url we can exclude, and some other useful things. Hope i’ve got enough time to finish this and make a submission to wordpress codex. It’s still experimental plugin though, need some suggestion about it. Still need to finalize it plus add some script so it would be portable for installing. Just wish me luck guys, hope this LazyDavinci could make it
