Statement of Apology

Through this post, i’d like to say sorry to anyone who are victims of the autopost spamming code on facebook. It wasnt fully me who did all the spamming activities. But i accept that i’m also guilty of it, i’m part of it and i feel so sorry. I’ve been doing this since around march 20-21. I was using http://bit.ly/hRqjAW to shorten the url at that time, until it’s blocked for suspicious activity. Now, they will give a warning message before people can see the real url. Last time i used http://y.ahoo.it/gajeBA but i have already removed the autopost code inside.

Let me tell you the chronology how the code could spread everywhere like now. It was first used by be me only for promoting this blog, getting more traffics, just for fun indeed. You can see this image, it shows how the alexa rank increased rapidly in 1-2 days

I actually limited the post only for indonesian IP plus with a custom interval, once in 3 hours only, meaning that when people see the same page less than 3 hours it wont be posted again. and it’s only on a certain page, not all of the page of this blog, and posted one line only on their wall, not like what is happening around, they post it ten times, twenty times or even more. I gave the code a little protection so people wont be able to see the source code easily. I also recorded many activities to rip the code, but they failed. But as you might already know, nothing safe on the internet, no matter how hard i tried to hide it from people, they will try to see it and finally get it somehow. One time, one of my friends anyhow saw the code and did the same thing like me, put the code on his blog but miserably he did it openly without any source code protection.

Then it’s open now, people can see the code with bare eyes. I told them to add more protection to their code at least to prevent the code being misused. Then more friends did the same thing, more and more. I got upset and posted an article about Facebook Autopost Spamming in order to get faster update from facebook. with a hope that they will notice this faster. But look around now, 9 days after, boom, it’s posted everywhere. I really dont expect this. Please note that i have already contacted Facebook Developer Team, including Zuck himself through facebook mail and message, but no respond at all until now. Hope they will fix this issue so we can have a good time connecting with facebook again.

I personally apologize for what is happening around. Hope everything will be back to normal again once they patch the XSS vulnerability. Really sorry.. so sorry..

   Btw.. terus berkarya, ga papa kok hal kayak gini di share, biar pada tahu dan ada upaya FB untuk memperbaiki diri, hehe,, kemarin sempet bikin heboh FB gan.. banyak yg berkata ini virus FB terbaru..
